Neither are the best weapon rifles, but if I had to pick probably the AK-47.
Although the SKS is significantly cheaper, there is a reason why it’s so cheap. The AK-47 makes up it’s flaws with it’s simplicity, ruggedness, and affordability. Despite it’s accuracy being “good enough” and recoil disadvantages, the AK-47 will still deliver a blow to the head when needed if in effective range as shown in more firefight scenarios.
In addition the AK-47 also has a significant ballistic advantage at the cost of a slightly increased recoil. The advantage is the 7.62x39cm round which can penetrate soft-to-medium barriers, neat yes? This can be important if you live in a urban environment and start to shoot adversaries in vehicles, behind bushes, fences and etc. However the greater the distance, the less effectiveness.
In addition, the biggest advantage of the AK-47 is the cheap costs for ammunition and the rifle itself.
So my conclusion, AK-47 of course. However if given to choose something else , I would.
